The role requires frequent travel to our sites in the Goldfields and Pilbara.The role is accountable to ensure technical expertise is provided in operational, maintenance, and investment decisions to achieve business goals and maintain technical compliance with internal and external requirements. This requires a practical and tailored approach to managing short term and long-term asset performance requirements for a diverse generation fleet of process control systems and instrumentation.POSITION SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIESKey Responsibilities / Accountabilities, Areas of FocusProvide expert advice, support and technical leadership in the field of instrumentation and process control.Design, document and implement enhancements and modifications to existing systems.Provide technical input and quality assurance guidance into the procurement, manufacturing, testing, maintenance and operation of instrumentation and process control systems.Maintain an expert level of technical knowledge for process control systems and instrumentation.Identify and mitigate enterprise risk in process control systems and instrumentation asset management related to engineering practices, standards, equipment procurement, maintenance, testing and operations. Includes identifying and applying opportunities to add operational value.Provide expert process control systems and instrumentation input into equipment failure investigations and into the asset management process to ensure risk assessments and condition assessments inform asset strategies.Leadership accountabilities with respect to the delivery of internal projects.Set priorities and enforce agreed deadlines.Engaging and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to actively seek contributions and feedback.Drive for results.Cross Functional AccountabilitiesEngage and liaise with internal stakeholders including, but not limited to:Commercial team in relation to metering data for billing purposes and the control system for the dispatch of generating facilities.Regional Control Centre (RCC) in relation to the Aviva Plant SCADA system and troubleshooting of control system issues.Site personnel in relation to the provision of technical advice and support, troubleshooting of issues encountered in the operation of plant and equipment.Information technology team in Perth in relation to the IT infrastructure and communications network.Our clients team in Canada in relation to the data historian and OT infrastructure.AuthorityAuthority to approve expenditures per policy 202 limit.Represent our client with external stakeholders.Decision making within team and cross-functionally to enable incumbent to effectively complete accountabilities.QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Certifications and Essential Experience required for the positionUniversity Degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical).A minimum of 5 years of control and instrumentation experience in a heavy industry environment.Broad experience in PLC, Citect, SCADA and interfaces with proprietary OEM controls.Project management, risk management and planning skills.Awareness and understanding of applicable engineering principles, practices and standards.Knowledge and understanding of technical regulations and practices related to process control systems and instrumentation.Knowledge of the applicable practices and processes associated with project management, reporting, project engineering, engineering design, reliability engineering, condition/risk assessment and energy technologies.Fluent in reading and understanding technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs.Demonstrated capability to solve unique and complex technical issues with innovative thinking and through the application of engineering principles, practices, and engineering standards.Demonstrated capability to quickly understand and document complex technical issues and articulate them to both a technical and non-technical audience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in documenting ideas and concepts for stakeholder input.Proficient in core office programs (i.e.: MS office) and capable of learning key position specific applications.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyStaffing and Recruiting
