We have a statewide service that provides three regional community teams and a statewide inpatient facility in Hobart. You will have the opportunity to develop active partnerships to support sector integration and client outcomes, develop and implement ongoing quality improvement, and develop and implement strategies to meet current and future service priorities.Broaden your professional experience, with our CARE values driven approach (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence), and work in a multidisciplinary team with like-minded people where you can improve the lives of older people.The Role:The Director of Nursing - Older Persons Mental Health (OPMHS) Statewide is an autonomous senior manager and lead clinician working with the Group Director OPMHS, and under the guidance of the Statewide Speciality Director OPMHS.Providing high-level strategic expertise, specialist advice, and support to the Directors -OPMHS and relevant senior staff in relation to clinical standards, education and training, and the management of significant day-to-day clinical and service-related issues.Assist the Group Director in the oversight of relevant human, financial, and physical resources.Details of appointment:Permanent full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.Salary: $144,146 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.Minimum Requirements:Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post-graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital-based program that lead to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or the United Kingdom.Current Working with Vulnerable People (NDIS endorsed) registration.Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:Post-graduate qualification at Master’s preparation level which is relevant to education, management, or leadership is highly desirable for this position.A minimum of 5 years postgraduate employment as a Registered Nurse in mental health or OPMHS.Current Driver's Licence.Benefits available to eligible candidates:Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.Professional development and accelerated pathways.A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.What it is like working at the Department of Health?Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence are the key values to work in the Department of Health.
