About the role
The Policy officer is responsible for :
4. Preparing and maintaining documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information.
5. Contribute to the achievement of project outcomes, and support effective decision making.
6. Undertake research, evaluation and analysis to identify emerging issues and prepare recommendations to resolve policy
7. Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations
8. Address and respond to changing issues and priorities

Essential requirements of the role
9. Hold a current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) (for paid employment)
10. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
Key knowledge and experience
11. Experience in working in a policy environment including policy analysis, development and review
12. Sound understanding of the policy process
13. Experience in planning, coordinating and reporting on stakeholder engagement
14. Demonstrated ability to communicate with and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
15. Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Policy and upholding the and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
