Exciting Opportunity for an Allied Health Educator (Fixed Term 1.0 EFT) at Central Gippsland HealthAbout Central Gippsland Health Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.
CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.
About the Role The role will manage relationships and create additional opportunities for regional placements for Monash allied health students and students from other universities. The purpose of this role is stakeholder engagement and collaboration to further develop placement coordination and expand placement opportunities. The position is also required to develop effective internal links between the CGH allied health department and Learning Services, along with those of other universities and allied health services and agencies across the MRH footprint.
The appointee will be expected to develop collaborative relationships with entities such as the local Indigenous community, local health services, community health services, aged care facilities and appropriate local community members as related to student placements and increasing capacity. Additionally, the appointee is expected to keep abreast of best practice activities, technologies and research related to clinical placement coordination, especially in Allied Health and the application to learning and teaching innovation.
Duties To provide academic and placement support to the allied health students on placement across the region's health services.To act as an education and clinical resource for gathering and reviewing evidence for practice.To develop collaborative partnerships with Monash, other university allied health departments and regional allied health services and agencies.To assist in coordinating Allied Health undergraduate student clinical placements utilising Placeright, including review of placement planning and capacity; and liaison with education providers during the placement planning phase.To conduct tutorials, workshops, clinical and simulation sessions with a specific focus on allied health students.Qualifications, Skills and Experience Current registration with AHPRA or professional association membership.Demonstrated excellence in teaching in an allied health discipline area (i.e. through evaluations, innovation in presentations and through curriculum development).Experience in clinical education supervision and development.Application Please attach your resume and cover letter to your application.All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate and obtaining a Working with Children Check.
