Program Development and Coordination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ChildrenThis role assists with the development, implementation, and coordination of program initiatives for human services. The focus is on delegated authority to community-controlled organisations for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.Key Responsibilities:Develop and manage projects that support the delivery of services relevant to the business unit, primarily achieving delegated authority to community-controlled organisations.Consult with government agencies and community organisations to develop policy and program options for delivering quality services.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on whole-of-government policy and program initiatives related to the programs delivered by the business unit.Undertake research and provide advice to government and regional staff.Prepare written materials including cabinet submissions, executive correspondence, briefing material, speech notes, and information papers.Collaborate on communication and information activities to raise awareness of issues affecting Queenslanders with disability.Develop systems for monitoring and reviewing policy and programs under the business unit's responsibility.Mandatory Requirements:The position must be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person due to a genuine occupational requirement.A valid 'C' class driver's licence and ability to undertake short periods of intrastate travel.Extensive experience in tertiary child protection practice and a degree or postgraduate studies in related fields are highly desirable.About the Team:The Quality Practice Team leads practice aligned with the Framework for Practice in the South West Region. The team provides practice support through specialist teams, including the Delegated Authority Team, which works with Child Safety Service Centres and Aboriginal and Torres Strait organisations to deliver culturally responsive services.
