Fixed term full time (30 June 2026), Griffith based opportunity to join our growing Carer Gateway Team!Play a vital role in coordinating and facilitating outreach activities, assist in reducing barriers to accessing support services, raise awareness and contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of our carers and their families.We are for people, not for profit.Working with LiveBetter will also provide you access to fitness passport and salary packaging options (increase your take home pay)!LiveBetter Employee Benefits include: Salary Packaging (increase your take home pay)!Access to our 24/7 employee wellbeing appSupplementary Parental LeaveAdditional Purchase LeaveEmployee Referral ProgramFitness PassportService & Recognition AwardsLearning and Development opportunities, with diverse career pathway options(Eligibility criteria/terms and conditions may apply for some LiveBetter Employee Benefits)About The Carer Gateway To improve support for carers, the government researched and engaged with stakeholders over four years to re-design services.This has resulted in the development of the National Carer Gateway model.This introduces a range of tailored carer supports and services designed to reduce carer stress, increase resilience, and help carers plan for the future.About the Role The Carer Gateway Community Engagement Officer fulfils a vital role within the Carer Gateway, coordinating and facilitating outreach activities, to assist in reducing barriers which prevent disconnected or hidden potential service users and carers from accessing the services they need, also to raise awareness and contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of carers and their families.Some key accountabilities of this role will include: Coordinating and facilitating outreach activities such as information sessions, community forums, linking with social, health, cultural and education providers to raise awareness of and promote the Carer Gateway.Conducting service area mapping and work with the Carer Gateway team to identify service gaps and develop projects, initiatives, and community development strategies.Conduct outreach activities with the team that raise community awareness of the Carer Gateway, improve the health and wellbeing of caring families, and promote community participation/social inclusion.Developing strategies to engage carers from diverse communities.Overseeing targeted activities that support carers to remain in or engage with education or employment.Overseeing the promotional activities and initiatives delivered.You will be required at times to drive the Carer Gateway mobile office to rural and remote locations for outreach activities.Implementing robust evaluation and reporting methods on the effectiveness of outreach activities.Developing partnerships and referral pathways with organisations to support the Carer Gateway outcomes.What LiveBetter needs from you: We would love to hear from you if you are passionate about providing solutions to support carers.You will also have qualifications and training in the Community Services/Health/Welfare/Social Services and/or Education fields or a minimum of three years' relevant industry experience.To be successful in this role, you will also have these key skills/experience:Ability to coordinate and facilitate community outreach activities.Ability to provide customer service, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to facilitate service coordination and referral pathways.Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated capacity to develop flexible solutions.Experienced computer skills including client management systems, the Microsoft Office suite of products and the ability to learn new systems.Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise workload in a constantly changing environment.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the community care sector, including the complex challenges faced by Carers of people with a disability, chronic illness, mental health condition and the frail aged.Current First Aid and CPR Certificates.The role may involve travel and on occasion include overnight stays, so a current Australian Drivers Licence is essential.Sounds great?What next?
