Hydrogen Project
Contract opportunity: 3/4 month
Location: Chinchilla, QLD (FIFO/DIDO Ideally from Brisbane but will also consider candidates nationally
My client is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) expertise to join them for the final stages of an exciting hydrogen project in Chinchilla, Queensland. The project is nearing completion, with pre-commissioning already underway. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving the project through to commissioning and overseeing the handover to the client.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the progress from pre-commissioning to full commissioning of HV electrical systems.
* Ensure safety compliance and oversee the correct use of HV and LV LOTO systems.
* Work closely with Electricians and Electrical Contractors, ensuring all work complies with QLD Electrical Safety Regulations and AS/NZS 3000 and other relevant standards.
* Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and run SQL queries for database work.
* Collaborate with the project team to manage the transition towards project completion.
* Oversee testing, troubleshooting, and resolving any issues during commissioning.
* Successfully hand over the project to the client upon completion.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Proven experience with high voltage (HV) systems.
* Previous involvement within the energy, utilities, or renewables sector.
* Experience working with electricians and a thorough knowledge of the role of Electrical Contractors and Engineers in QLD.
* Ability to work independently, adapt to changes, and manage on-site requirements.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced project environment.
