This is a key position within our CFO Advisory Services team which offers a variety of services from finance transformation to financial reporting and technical accounting advisory for clients across a diverse range of industries.
You will work with a wider team providing finance function and accounting insights to projects including financial and management reporting, audit readiness, finance function assessment, accounting change, accounting policies and procedures, reporting tools and regulatory compliance.
As a manager, you will be responsible for effectively planning and delivering projects to clients, developing and coaching team members and have the opportunity to be involved in business development to support growth of the CFO Advisory Services team. You will work directly with partners and directors, gain great exposure to clients and expand both your accounting and technology skillsets as they apply to finance functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plan and deliver financial reporting, accounting advisory and finance transformation projects in conjunction with other engagement team members.
2. Coach and develop team members, review the work of team members on a timely basis providing ongoing feedback.
3. Work with and influence clients at senior levels in different business environments.
4. Research technical accounting and financial statement disclosure topics and document in a format suitable for client deliverables.
5. Summarise the key areas of the engagement for partner review.
6. Ensure completion of each assignment to a high quality standard, within budget and on or before deadlines.
7. Together with the partner, negotiate fees and demonstrate commercial responsibility for the profitability of each client.
8. Contribute to meetings and be able to deliver presentations effectively to the wider Audit and Assurance team and clients.
9. Assist with management and co-ordination of the CFO Advisory Services team including, but not limited to, resourcing, training, mentoring and methodology compliance.
10. Assist in business development and marketing activities.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
1. Bachelor or equivalent degree in accounting, finance or related area.
2. CA qualification or equivalent.
3. Skills in financial reporting, technical accounting, management accounting or reporting tools.
4. Relationship management skills including teamwork and collaboration.
5. Experience in technical accounting.
DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES:
Essential
1. 5-7 years' experience either professional services, commerce or mix of both.
2. Strong communication and client relationship skills.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills.
5. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
6. Strong report writing skills.
7. Detailed working knowledge and application of Corporations Act, Australian Accounting and Auditing Standards and other applicable legislation.
8. Strong project management skills.
9. Organised, reliable and self-motivated.
10. Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio and reporting tools.
Desirable
1. Business development exposure.
2. Previous experience in managing a team.
3. Power BI, Alteryx, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle and other ERP experience.
4. Lease accounting, treasury accounting and exposure to complex accounting topics.
