About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team in Regional Southern NSW for a 12-week contract starting in October, with the potential for extension. You will be working in the adult acute and rehabilitation ward, providing care to patients with complex conditions in an inpatient setting.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a regional hospital while experiencing the diverse and dynamic challenges of both acute care and rehabilitation. The role requires someone who can hit the ground running with prior hospital experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments for adult patients in the acute and rehab ward.
* Develop and implement tailored intervention plans to support recovery and functional independence.
* Provide ongoing therapeutic interventions to support patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
* Engage in discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions for patients.
* Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
* Participate in ward rounds, case conferences, and family meetings.
Essential Criteria:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Full AHPRA registration.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting, with specific exposure to acute and/or rehabilitation wards.
* Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Demonstrated understanding of patient-centered care and ability to manage a varied caseload.
