Overview
Based in the breathtaking landscapes of Western Australia, we are looking for an experienced Senior Botanist to drive our mission forward. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of relevant experience, with a strong background in plant ecology, conservation, and research.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct detailed field surveys and assessments of plant communities in various ecosystems throughout Western Australia.
* Identify and document plant species, including rare and endangered species, contributing to biodiversity inventories.
* Design and implement research projects related to plant ecology, conservation, and habitat restoration.
* Analyse and interpret ecological data, preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders.
* Collaborate with environmental scientists, ecologists, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
* Stay updated on the latest botanical research and conservation techniques, contributing to ongoing professional development.
About you:
* A degree in Botany, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in botany, plant ecology, or related research roles, with a focus on Western Australian flora.
* Proficiency in plant identification and knowledge of local ecosystems.
* Experience with GIS and ecological data analysis software is highly advantageous.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to field sites as required.
