Job Title: Experienced Chef or Cook
We are seeking a skilled and experienced chef or cook to join our team at the Dakabin Hotel. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a focus on modern Australian cuisine and exceptional customer service.
About the Role:
This full-time position involves working 38 hours per week, with a minimum of 4 weeks annual leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the operation of our high-volume food outlets, including preparing and cooking meals, maintaining quality and consistency, and contributing to menu planning and food cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
* Display excellent prep, cooking, and plating skills
* Emphasize quality and consistency of dishes
* Demonstrate a keen interest in growing food trends and techniques
* Contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation, and food cost control
* Work with the management team on food preparation and seasonal menu planning
* Stock ordering and labour cost control
* A sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and WHS
* Immaculate presentation and grooming
* Ability to handle large service numbers
* Above-average customer care and service skills
* Chef de Partie responsibilities include training junior team members on cooking techniques and procedures
Requirements:
* Relevant industry qualification
* At least 1-2 years' experience in a similar position
* Availability to work nights, weekends, and school holidays
* Flexibility and positive attitude
