The Emergency Department of Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is seeking experienced General Practitioner Visiting Medical Officers to join its team of emergency medicine specialists.
You will deliver, as part of a small dedicated team of emergency specialists, excellence in clinical care every patient, every time. You will promote seamless continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient services. You will provide inpatient and emergency department service to ensure optimal medical care to the patients of Armidale Rural Referral Hospital.
Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is a ninety-nine bed facility providing a comprehensive range of services including acute medical and surgical services, obstetrics, paediatrics, and a range of diagnostic and allied health services. The hospital features a busy emergency department, a Level 3 Close Observation Unit, a mental health unit, and a renal dialysis unit. The referral community of the area is 55,200. Adult Medical services include respiratory, cardiac, chemotherapy, renal, and palliative care. Surgical services include general, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, and ophthalmology. The hospital is spacious, modern, and well-equipped, with the most recent development opening in 2019.

Minimum Requirements:
* A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Australian College of Rural Remote Medicine and/or overseas trained specialist pathways, or nearing completion of Fellowship.
* Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in General Practice.
* Completion or currently undertaking an Emergency Life Support course and skill/experience in Emergency Medicine.
* Evidence of being a scholar, maintaining medical professional development and assisting other staff, including trainees, in the acquisition and development of knowledge.
* Evidence of being a skilled communicator, including both oral and written skills, communicating with patients, students, other health professionals, and the public.
* Evidence of being a collaborator, including the ability to network and operate within an interdisciplinary framework and work with other stakeholders in various settings.
* Evidence of being a manager, including the ability to be flexible and cope with a changing health system, past leadership and management experience, and previous safety and quality improvement activities.
* Evidence of being a professional, including continued professional development, peer review, and other forms of clinical governance.
* Evidence of being an advocate, including contributions to improving individual and societal health.
