I am partnered with a Federal Government Agency, in the heart of Geelong to recruit an EL1 Assistant Director Strategy for a 12 month, full-time temporary assignment with the potential to extend. Your new role The EL1 Assistant Director Strategy is a pivotal role, accountable for undertaking work with high complexity and strategic, political, and operational significance. You will be responsible for analysis and insight development, contributing to strategic development, policies, priorities, and operational practices. This role requires coordination and responsibility for highly complex, sensitive projects. Key Responsibilities: Gather and develop structured insights and recommendations for strategic projects. Develop fact-based quantitative and qualitative analysis, including modelling in Microsoft Excel. Create materials for senior internal and external stakeholders, including the Minister, Board, and Executive Leadership Team, to communicate perspectives, recommendations, and implications. Present recommendations and facilitate discussions with a range of stakeholders and senior leadership. Develop action plans and ensure stakeholder alignment to enable successful implementation. Develop content to embed change, including authorship of policy papers and guidance materials. Collaborate with and support business areas to structure problems, inform about options, and drive solutions and priorities. What you'll need to succeed You have a high level of independence and are adept at complex problem-solving and issue management. You exercise sound judgement to produce high-level policy advice and operational support. You are skilled at managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and can represent and negotiate on behalf, across various forums. Proven experience in strategic analysis and insight development. Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to create and present materials to senior stakeholders. Experience of managing complex projects and stakeholder relationships.
