We are in the final stages of transitioning all primary health services in West Arnhem to Aboriginal community control. About The Role This is a Darwin based role. We're looking for a highly organised and community-minded Executive Assistant to support our Board of Directors, Chair, and CEO. This role ensures the smooth running of our Board and helps maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal leadership and community voices.
This is more than an admin role — it's a chance to be part of a movement towards Aboriginal-led health care. Cultural understanding, respect for kinship systems, and the ability to listen and communicate with care are central to success in this position.
This role will involve regular travel to remote communities across West Arnhem by car and light aircraft.
Benefits Option to salary package up to $15,900 per annum6 weeks annual leave and 17.5% leave loadingAdditional 3 days of paid leave over Christmas periodCompetitive salary package with salary-sacrificing optionsOpportunity to work closely with Aboriginal leaders and communitiesBe part of a growing Aboriginal community-controlled health organisationKey Responsibilities Provide executive support to the Board and senior management, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.Act as the primary liaison between the Board, Aboriginal community representatives, and external stakeholders.Support the development of culturally appropriate governance processes and documentation.Assist in the preparation and distribution of reports, correspondence, and policy documents.Support Board training, induction, and strategic planning sessions.Ensure timely follow-ups on action items from Board meetings.Organise travel, events, and logistics for Board members and executive staff.Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.Essential What we are looking for: Identified Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.Strong knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, heritage, and governance structures.Experience in providing high-level administrative support in a governance, executive, or board setting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders.High level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).National Police Clearance.Working with Children Card.Desirable Previous experience working in a not-for-profit, government, or Aboriginal community-controlled organisation.Familiarity with corporate governance requirements and board procedures.Please note there is no closing date for this position.
