Work with us The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is responsible for the design and delivery of the Australian Government's infrastructure, transport, regional development, communications and arts policies and programs. We provide policy advice and deliver programs, projects and services in the infrastructure, transport, communications and arts sectors, supporting our regions, cities and territories. The Communication and Change Branch provides high quality advice and support through a range of enabling services, including ministerial announcements, speechwriting services, strategic communication services, change management services, internal communication services, media liaison, social media engagement, advertising campaigns and design and digital production services. The opportunity we have available As a member of the Creative Services Design team, the APS6 Senior Graphic Designer will work as part of a team of designers (and under the supervision of the Creative Services EL1 Assistant Director) to create high quality graphic design content for a variety of internal and external channels. As well as being technically skilled, the role requires a candidate with strong organisational and communication skills that can create positive working relationships with clients and colleagues. The Creative Services Design team provides graphic design, creative and print management services to internal clients and our Ministers' Offices. Production tasks include, but are not limited to, reports, plans, strategies, publications, templates, factsheets, display systems, branding and brochures. The design team works on Apple Macs, using the Adobe Creative Suite and the Microsoft Office Suite. This position is part of the Internal Communication and Creative Services Section, which delivers high-quality advice to support our business areas to meet their internal communication objectives and provides design services, branding and design procurement advice to our internal clients and Ministers' Offices. What will you do? Key duties for the APS6 Senior Graphic Design position include but are not limited to: Providing timely, high quality, end to end creative design services that achieve intended outcomes for a variety of target audiences. Contributing to the conceptualisation, development, design and coordination of communication and marketing material for online and print publications, social media, websites and the intranet to meet client needs, within agreed deadlines. Sourcing, resizing and editing images as required for clients for use on various internal and external platforms. Upholding departmental and Australian Government branding guidelines when undertaking design work. Maintaining and nurturing strong client and stakeholder relationships. Working with external suppliers to facilitate a range of services for clients including but not limited to printing, typesetting, indexing and production of banners and signage. Creating documents that adhere to Government online accessibility requirements. Who are we looking for?
