An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic Urology Clinical Fellow to join our Urology Department from August 2025. About the department: The Urology Unit, as part of the Division of Surgery, is responsible for the provision of services within the specialty to patients across Austin Health. The Head of Unit is A/P Damien Bolton.
About the role: The Urology Fellow is expected to undertake standard clinical duties including supervision of registrars during surgery and the performance of routine surgical procedures under direction from the consultant Urologist. This operative responsibility may also include occasional replacement of registrars during periods of leave.
Clinical duties required of the Urology Fellow will also include direction of the resident medical staff in regard to ward responsibility, particularly in regard to postoperative patient care, and outpatient clinic attendance. You will also participate in the auditing and review of clinical practices to improve clinical outcomes and attendance at Division of Surgery audits is compulsory and attendance at Surgical Grand Rounds is expected.
To be successful in this role you must: Be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Hold a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or its equivalent. Have appropriate training and experience applicable to the field of Urology. Demonstrated commitment to high quality patient care. Proven capability and interest in research. Demonstrated commitment to teaching. Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels.
