Due to our continued growth we have an exciting opportunity for self-driven Management Accountant, to join our Engineering Construction division Engaged on a fixed term basis you will report to the Commercial Manager you will play a key role in providing financial management and systems support. You will support the team collate, analyse and manage data and costs to build budgets and forecasts and report on team performance. You will use your accounting knowledge to extract insight, improve processes and implement additional controls by supporting the case for change. This role will act as the second-in-command to the Commercial Manager. Key responsibilities
1. Review overhead costs and provide suggestions in relation to cost reduction strategies
2. Managing the month end process which includes compiling and reviewing the Division’s monthly financials with a focus on scrutinising variances
3. Compilation of monthly reports and presentations that are used by the Executive Management team
4. Review of monthly Divisional balanced scorecards (KPI’s)
5. Identify trends or irregularities and communicate with management
6. Investigate anomalies which may require discussions with responsible parties or utilisation of multiple systems to collate data to provide explanation
7. Review individual Project performance
8. Assist in the annual budget process for the division
9. Engaging and building strong relationships with other divisions
10. Provide support to the Business Services managers on financial processes to maximise operational performance including budgeting, forecasting, planning and modelling
11. Oversee fixed asset accounting process and the internal billing of assets
12. Collaborating and liaising with stakeholders, as well as other team members, from across our business to improve and standardise processes and associated systems to enable seamless transition and integration value add to our business and our customers.
13. Identify and actively address complexities in the payable process associated with tax, foreign exchange, customs and border crossing and the management of data across dual accounting systems
14. Investigate and address data integrity issues as they arise.
15. Respond to requests for reports associated with the payable process e.g. finance reports, FBT data
16. Meet compliance regulations and external and internal audit requirements
17. Scenario and options analysis to assess the impact of changes in assumptions and variables
18. Identify relevant data sources and use technology and system knowledge to enhance the quality of analytics and performance measurement and identify opportunities for improvement
19. Generate effective reporting and dashboards to support decision making
What you will bring
20. Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or Accounting, Technology. Extensive experience demonstrating extensive systems accounting experience, strong commercial acumen, scenario, and option analysis
21. You are a Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant or working towards these qualifications
22. Relevant industry experience (Resources, Engineering and Construction Industry) would be advantageous but not essential
23. Excellent communication skills with proven experience of building relationships at all levels of an organisation

26. The ability to leverage your analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose business problems and deliver practical, sustainable solutions
27. Experience using the Microsoft package, with advanced skill using Microsoft Excel;
28. Willing to work on a variety of projects and tasks at times working irregular hours
29. Previous experience with JDE accounting software (desirable but not essential)
