Overview
This is a great opportunity to assist clients to remain living independently within the community within a Consumer Directed Care model for the provision of aged care, disability and support services. Working within the Adelaide Hills region which is a large geographical area of Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network with a diverse range of clients, you will enjoy a high level of autonomy within the community setting. You will provide personal care to clients such as showering, bathing, dermalux, toileting/continence management, stocking application, personal hygiene and all aspects of grooming. You will also undertake household support such as vacuuming, dusting, polishing, washing floors, washing and ironing, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms/toilet areas, changing of bed linen and making beds, along with preparation and cooking of basic meals. You may also undertake minor gardening tasks like raking, sweeping and watering, and contribute to day centre activities including transport, shopping assistance, and assistance with therapy services. Utilising a wellness and reablement approach to service delivery and the meeting of client directed goals, you may be required to assist with the use of lifters, pressure area care, and medication management under the direction of an appropriate clinical professional.
Holding a current driver’s licence and with access to your own reliable transport, you will be flexible, conscientious and able to work autonomously in the community. Demonstrating the ability to perform under limited direction, you will work well within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. Along with a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality, you will display empathy towards the elderly and the disabled, and be willing to develop a positive rapport with clients and their families.
