Job Title: Maintenance Officer

Role Overview: Working with the Regional Manager and Facility Managers, overseeing the maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and building systems through routine preventative programs and urgent repairs. Maintains the asset management database and provides equipment reports. Must model organizational values, safety, quality improvement, and the Code of Conduct, and comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and legislation, including confidentiality and health and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities;
1. Responsible for delivery of the clients Maintenance Program for buildings, including but not limited to reactive & programmed maintenance, building inspections and audits.
2. Assist Maintenance Management with management of maintenance contracts, including but not limited to conducting contractor performance meetings, audits of works completed prior to payment, performance management and quality management (in line with relevant Australian Standards and Building codes).
3. Maintains the regions asset management data base and provide reports on all equipment as required.
4. Maintain accurate and current maintenance history records for each asset item using a PC based maintenance management program.
5. Work with Facility Managers to allocate maintenance tasks and participate as a team member to ensure preventative maintenance jobs are scheduled and completed.
6. Liaise with Regional Manger Infrastructure, Facility Managers and HSM/DON on supervision of contracts for the performance of all specialist maintenance such as servicing bio‐medical electrical / electronic, fire detection systems, medical gas reticulation and equipment, communication system, pest control services, specialist trade requirements.
7. Undertake energy management initiatives wherever possible.
8. Liaise with Regional Manger Infrastructure and Facility Managers on the planning and implementation of special projects as required.
9. Advise and report upon departmental activities by means of a monthly maintenance management report.
10. Undertake procurement initiatives including developing recommendations, scope and contract management on preventive maintenance programs and equipment replacement.
11. Responsible for maintaining the organisations asset management system including asset on boarding and off boarding.
12. Ensure that timely and accurate specialist technical advice is provided to the Regional Manger Infrastructure and Facility Managers.
13. Adhere to the clients Delegation Schedule when ordering items
14. Develop and implement Maintenance policy and procedure manuals / resources.
15. Liaise with Regional Manger Infrastructure and Facility Managers regarding any unexpected cost event
Essential to be successful in this role;
16. Demonstrated significant previous experience in maintenance management systems relevant to the position.
17. Demonstrated knowledge of specialised equipment such as gas hot water boilers, air‐conditioning and refrigeration plant, gas fire cooking, biomedical electric/electronic equipment and communication systems.
18. Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal) and communication skills.
19. Demonstrated ability to coordinate maintenance tasks within a multi‐disciplinary team.
20. Computer literacy and familiarity with PC based maintenance management systems.
21. Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Work Health and Safety, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
22. Desirable previous experience using the Agility asset management program.
23. Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C‐A Class drivers licence.
24. Current valid NPC or ability to obtain one
25. Must be able to travel to Wheatbelt when required
