As the Principal Contractor for the Naval Communications Station Harold E Holt (NCSHEH) located in Exmouth, Western Australia, Raytheon Australia provides services for the maintenance and operation of critical defence infrastructure including the Space Surveillance Telescope, Very Low Frequency (VLF) Communications Transmitter and C-Band Radar Tracking Radar.
To support our mission, Raytheon Australia is currently seeking a motivated Skilled Maintenance Worker who is ready to join a diverse, talented and enthusiastic team in Exmouth, Western Australia.
The Skilled Maintenance Worker is required to provide support to trades and other personnel in undertaking various tasks related to the maintenance of the facilities and equipment. Tasks incorporate electrical, building works, grounds, concrete works, water systems, fuel systems, and paint and blast.
Key Responsibilities:
4. Adhere to safety requirements and develop job safety analyses for specific tasks.
5. Undertaking a variety of tasks in support of trades’ personnel.
6. Plan activities, including tools, equipment, assistance and materials needed to complete tasks within allocated time frames.
7. Undertaking regular inspections and tasks within the skills, experience, and qualifications requirements of the role.
8. Ensure that equipment is maintained to operate in a safe manner, including identifying, tagging, and/or reporting any equipment that is unsafe for use.
9. Liaise with others to notify and organise tasks to be undertaken as required.
10. Report any incidents to a member of the Management team as a priority.
11. Plan and record work tasks in the asset / maintenance management system.
12. Travel within Australia will be required to fulfill the requirements of this role.
13. Other duties as deemed relevant to program and operational requirements and within the technical competency of the position.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
14. High school, secondary school or equivalent education is required.
15. Minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience.
16. A broad knowledge of operational systems and practices, gained through extensive experience and/or education, is required.
17. Demonstrated ability to operate in a technical environment.
18. Demonstrated ability to plan and organise tasks.
19. Knowledge of associated terminologies, in relation to the responsibilities of the role.
20. Understanding of processes and procedures and the ability to follow, adhere, and comply with them.
21. Computer literacy including the use of asset / maintenance management systems, Windows operating system, and the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
22. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 Security Clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at
