Civil Construction Supervisor
Job Summary
The Civil Construction Supervisor will lead teams and deliver exceptional results on high-impact civil projects. This role involves managing site teams, maintaining client relationships, and upholding safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Operations Management (40%)
o Supervise daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
o Manage site personnel (employees and subcontractors) to optimise productivity and ensure project timelines are met.
o Monitor and control site resources, including labour, equipment, and materials.
o Maintain accurate site documentation and reporting.
2. Safety Leadership (20%)
o Lead safety initiatives, ensuring a strong safety culture across the site.
o Conduct pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
o Ensure adherence to WHS policies and regulations, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
3. Quality Control (15%)
o Oversee quality control processes and inspections to ensure work meets project specifications.
o Maintain quality documentation and records, liaising with external inspectors as necessary.
4. Team Leadership (15%)
o Provide direction, support, and on-the-job training for site personnel.
o Monitor team performance, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive team environment.
5. Stakeholder Management (10%)
o Liaise effectively with the Project Manager, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
o Address community concerns and report project progress to management.
Requirements
1. Leadership
o Strong team leadership and supervisory skills.
o Excellent communication and decision-making abilities.
o Ability to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environments.
2. Technical
o Proficient in civil construction methods, reading construction drawings, and survey procedures.
o Knowledge of Australian Standards and building codes.
o Experience with various construction plant and equipment.
3. Operational
o Strong organisational, planning, and resource management skills.
o Experience in project documentation and reporting.
o Proficient in cost control and site administration.
4. Qualifications & Experience
o Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or equivalent (preferred).
o Minimum 5 years of civil construction experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
o Demonstrated experience in earthworks and civil projects.
o Valid driver's license and current construction safety certifications.
o Working knowledge of project management software.
