The 44,900 sqm facility - equivalent to almost three times the size of the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). This will strengthen Primary Connect’s national supply chain and service more than 1,000 Woolworths Supermarkets across Australia with more than 12,000 product lines.The OpportunityThe purpose of this role is to effectively investigate, recommend and close out opportunities to improve the overall performance of the automation and operations that have been impacted or degraded through packaging or Vendor issues/non-conformance.You will play a crucial role in optimizing our automated distribution center's processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall workflow. Your expertise will contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to provide high-quality and sustainable solutions for our fully automated Moorebank RDC.Additional responsibilities of the role will include, however not be limited to:Analyze and evaluate existing operations, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.Be the site SME with relation to packaging and its interaction with the MHS.Escalate packaging concerns with internal stakeholders and account managers with a view of resolving consistent defects.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, supply chain, and maintenance, to develop integrated solutions that enhance operational efficiency and productivity.Participate in projects related to layout design, packing improvements, and system enhancements, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications.Utilize data analytics and simulation models to predict system behavior and outcomes under various scenarios, facilitating informed decision-making.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions that align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in industrial engineering and automated distribution, recommending innovations that can be adopted to improve operations.Reinforce and comply with Safety responsibilities.Who we’re looking forBachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.Proven experience (3-5 years) in industrial engineering, preferably in automated distribution centers or manufacturing environments.Strong understanding of automation technologies, material handling systems, and process optimization principles.Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).Excellent project management skills, with a track record of leading successful cross-functional projects.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with teams across various departments.Creative problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.Commitment to staying informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.Desired knowledge of packaging or inventory.Endless possibilities with Woolworths GroupWe’re a proud part of the Woolworths Group – 200,000+ bright minds, passionate hearts and unique perspectives working together connected by a shared Purpose – ‘to create better experiences together for a better tomorrow.’ Here you’ll be supported and empowered to explore new ideas, make brave commitments and innovate better ways to meet the food and everyday needs of more than 24 million customers every week.
