We have been serving the Cape and the Torres Strait region for over thirty years and have extensive experience providing air services to remote and communities throughout Queensland. Founded in 1990, the airline has over 200 staff, with head office in Cairns and bases in Brisbane, Townsville, Rockhampton and Horn Island. Who You Are Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, this role performs a critical function in our finance team. You’ll need to execute an array of different reporting tasks and methods to effectively identify errors, gaps and improvement areas across all areas of the business – including assisting with budgeting, forecasting as well as monthly reporting. Communication is key in that you’ll need to be comfortable in liaising with our wider management team to give advice and support across day-to-day operations as well as planning for future business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to bring their strategic and customer service approach to how we conduct finance. This role is full time working across standard business hours, based in either Cairns or Brisbane. What You Will Do • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making processes, including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. • Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic objectives. • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and business planning. • Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the financial health and performance of the company, identifying areas for improvement and optimisation. • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by senior management, supporting decision-making across various departments. • Stay informed about industry trends, economic developments, and competitor activities, providing insights to support strategic planning and forecasting. • Assist in the production of monthly and ad-hoc financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Review transactions to ensure they are correctly accounted for and comply with accounting standards and company policies. • Collaborate with other areas in Finance to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of transaction processing. Selection Criteria: • Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases and financial software applications • Confident using MS Office Suite • Hold a Bachelor in Accounting/Finance and ideally, be CIMA qualified or equivalent • Attention to detail is crucial, as is critical thinking • Proficiency in financial modelling • Other key elements of the role as mentioned above • Able to pass mandatory pre-employment and routine Drug and Alcohol testing How to Apply: If you have the skills and attributes we are looking for (or thereabouts) we’d love to hear from you.
