Research & Fellowships, Other (Education & Training) Full time $111154 - $124619 p.a. + 17% super + leave loading Base salary will be in the range $111,154 - $124,619 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8) As a member of the Pre-Award management team, you will provide tailored advice and guidance to researchers to identify and apply for relevant competitive research grants/funding schemes. In this critical leadership role, you will lead a team of 4-5 grant officers, dedicated to supporting researchers in securing funding for ground-breaking research at UQ. This hands-on management position involves contributing to the daily operations of the team while supporting the broader leadership within the Research Office. This role emphasises collaboration across the University, delivering high-quality, user-friendly client service, mentoring and developing team members and fostering a positive workplace culture. Key responsibilities will include: Supervising, guiding and training team members, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures, and promoting a strong customer focus. Providing strategic support to senior management, planning and working groups in your area of specialisation. Offering high-level support for complex matters within your specialisation and acting as the first point of escalation for team members. Leading and contributing to projects, policy review and development, governance, management decision-making, compliance and quality and performance reporting. Conducting research, consultation, data analysis, and benchmarking to stay informed about emerging issues and providing advice for business decision-making. Demonstrated experience in research administration/management including provision of strategic advice, project coordination, reporting and consulting. Experience in staff training, management, development and mentoring, including the ability to motivate staff to meet objectives. Highly developed relationship management and consulting skills, including the ability to interact, influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders. Demonstrated experience and delivery of continuous improvement activities, including data analysis, to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of policies, processes and systems.
