Picture yourself in command of a large group of personnel, managing the safe loading of high-tech military transport aircraft such as the C-17A Globemaster, C-130J Hercules and C27 Spartan.
In the exciting role of a Loadmaster your leadership and decision-making skills will be tested daily; and you'll need the mental agility to calculate payload configurations in challenging environments, when every second counts.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team, you'll use your organisational skills and physical resources to:
1. Manage freight on the ground and while airborne
2. Brief personnel and supervise load teams
3. Configure cargo compartments to enable safe weight distribution
4. Coordinate loading, airborne monitoring and unloading of cargo
5. Manage and facilitate airdrops
6. Liaise with those providing the cargo and those receiving it
You'll also be an aircraft crew member assisting with threat detection and search and rescue missions.
Your tasking, location and working hours will be dictated by diverse strategic and operational needs, ranging from combat support to disaster relief.
Your ability to keep a cool head while operating under intense pressure is important, as many missions simply cannot begin until you have completed your duties successfully. That alone makes this a very rewarding role for ambitious and resourceful people; and full training is provided.
