Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC) is on the lookout for a highly skilled Semi & Credit Strategist to elevate our funding and investment strategies.If you’re ready to make a significant impact and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!What You'll Do:Semi and Credit Strategy:Build and maintain high-level data sets, slide decks, and notes on key financial issuers.Create and manage a detailed database of spreads, liquidity, volatility, supply, and credit risk metrics.Collaborate with market strategists to gain insights and identify opportunities and risks.Develop and present strategies to capitalize on semi and credit market opportunities.Support fundamentals-based analysis, including fair value modeling, scenario analysis, and creating proprietary credit risk measures.Credit Analytical Support:Deliver proactive research on economic, market, and regulatory developments impacting credit risk.Develop projections for key variables affecting bank profitability, credit risk, and HQLA demand.Provide timely credit analysis on market and issuer risks and opportunities.Contribute to expanding QTC’s investment markets and segments.Support portfolio management with credit limit reviews and recommendations.Assist with management and Board reporting, investor relations, and external communications.State Rating and Semi-Government Issuer Analysis:Provide timely coverage of state government budgets and developments impacting credit profiles.Analyze the semi-government credit environment and outlook to inform QTC’s Funding and Investor Relations strategy.Offer state rating-related advice to stakeholders as needed.Qualifications:Essential:Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, accounting, economics, econometrics, or a related discipline.2-4 years’ experience as a strategist or in a credit, financial, or fiscal analyst role.Strong knowledge of financial markets and analytical skills, including understanding financial statements, ratios, and risk assessment.Desirable:Studying for a Post-Graduate Qualification or CFA.Experience in data collection, manipulation, and analysis, including financial and statistical modeling.Ability to present information and analysis clearly to support decision-making.Why Join Us:Be part of a dynamic and supportive team.Contribute to impactful financial strategies.Engage with diverse stakeholders.Grow professionally with us.Build the future with QTC:QTC is the central financing authority for the Queensland Government and provides financial resources and services for the State.
