With a keen focus on performance and the pursuit of excellence in all that we do, Charles Sturt University is seeking an inspirational leader for our School of Nursing, Paramedicine and Healthcare Sciences with high level strategic and team-building skills to help drive our success. This is a senior leadership appointment that requires both academic credibility and the ability to guide strategic direction. The role needs a leader with a commitment to promoting excellence in learning and teaching, research, cultural safety, and health practice.
The Head of School sets the strategic direction as well as leads the management of academic activities, operations, people, finances, and resources to deliver a high-quality academic student experience and to achieve the objectives of the School. The Head of School makes a significant contribution to Faculty leadership and contributes to achieving the objectives of the Faculty and University.
The Head of School promotes the University’s links with the community, industry, and professions to enhance the School’s teaching and research programs.
To be successful you will be an established leader in the nursing profession, ideally in an academic post, with experience leading professional accreditation processes, a strong commitment to advancing the knowledge and practice of nursing education. You will demonstrate a high level of capability to provide a culturally safe environment for staff and students and provide leadership in developing positive Indigenous Health outcomes. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of your capacity to ensure a positive team culture, ensure the delivery of high quality nursing education and foster the advancement of nursing through research and scholarship.
