We are seeking a talented Chef to join our dynamic team at Essence of Indya.
As a Chef at Essence of Indya, you will play a crucial role in crafting memorable dining experiences for our guests and contributing to the ongoing success of our restaurant.
Location- 37 Warwick Road, Ipswich, QLD 4305 Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth workflow during busy periods.
Order and manage inventory of spices, herbs, vegetables, meats, and other essential ingredients.
And optimizing inventory to support kitchen operations.
Ensure hygiene is maintained to the required standards and maintain a clean and organized kitchen during and after service.
Develop, plan, and execute a variety of Indian dishes (e.g., curries, tandoori, biryanis, naan, etc.
), ensuring dishes are prepared according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
Monitors and maintains the quality of dishes throughout every stage of preparation, ensuring that each plate meets high standards in taste, presentation, and adherence to culinary excellence.
Participating in the selection and hiring process to onboard skilled and qualified kitchen personnel and training the kitchen staff to perform their duties adequately.
Calculating food and labor costs to ensure profitability and efficient resource allocation.
Designing menus that balance creativity, seasonal availability, and customer preferences.
Strategically freezing and preserving ingredients to minimize waste and optimize kitchen efficiency.
Mentor and train kitchen staff on the preparation of Indian dishes, cooking techniques, and safety procedures.
Foster a team-oriented environment Working closely with managers, dietitians, kitchen staff, and waiting staff, the focus is on fostering collaboration and addressing operational, nutritional, and customer service aspects to ensure efficient and high-quality food service.

Skills and Experience: ·Certificate IV qualification is required.

Salary Package: $70,000 - $80,000 Plus Superannuation per annum.
