Job DescriptionSalary:Hiring Bonus: $1,000 after 90 days and $1,000 after 1 yearPosition OverviewThe Industrial Support Engineer (ISE) has overall responsibility for overseeing design tooling, jigs, components, and machinery in all production processes. This role also provides technical support functions to ensure better use of assets to increase overall performance of Mustad USA, helping to achieve the goals and objectives of the Company. Demonstrates Mustad values, showing respect for and engagement with co-workers, especially as they contribute to a quality product and organizational success.Essential Job FunctionsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:Designs, evaluates, and troubleshoots tooling, equipment, and manufacturing processes for Horseshoe production to improve OEE. Utilizes SolidWorks software to create and maintain design layouts, parts assembly, and drawings; develops 3D CAD models of processes, tools (die sets, hot forge dies tooling, etc.), and equipment.Leads OEE improvements through the implementation of TPM/lean methods in manufacturing and maintenance areas and supports other areas for improvement with emphasis on lean tools.Supports supervisors and other staff with technical knowledge related to 3D CAD model programming and drawing, robotics, closed die hot forging, machine shop, etc. Shares best practices and recommends new process machinery.Conducts ZFA (zero failure analysis), FMEA, and engineering studies to improve OEE at the forge. Creates reports and analyzes data for improvements and data-driven insights. Supports R&D in integrating new technologies and machinery into the manufacturing environment.Develops standardized operating instructions for upgraded processes, maintaining and updating all documentation.Performs or assists with other duties as requested or assigned.Education, Experience, and Skills RequirementsBS degree in Engineering (i.e., Mechanical, Process Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics)3 years of process engineering and industrial experience in field operation, process design & engineering, including 3D CAD modeling, SolidWorks, or other modeling software.Knowledge of process (hot forged, die close dies, tooling, CNC machines, or robotics)Problem-solving skills, advanced technical skills, analytical thinker.Proven work experience as an industrial engineer in hot forged processes and/or related industrial companies.Proven work expertise in Lean tools, TPM methods, and quality standards. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and experience.Highly self-motivated, adaptable to change, and possesses an excellent work ethic.Able to read, understand, analyze, and problem-solve mechanical and electrical drawings.Able to work independently and accurately with minimal supervision.Proficiency with MS Office, well organized, and with a strong aptitude for details.Familiarity with quality, environmental, health, and safety regulations.Must be able to read, write, and speak English.Must work well in a team environment.Desirable Skills/Attributes (but not required)Experience with robotics and PLC programming.Experience working with CNC machines, robotics programming, close-die, hot forge, designing tooling.Spanish fluency verbally and in writing.Physical DemandsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Periods of standing, walking, reaching above shoulders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and working with tools.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Must hold a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally 10%.Work EnvironmentThe employee works in a factory environment and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. Individuals are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and work with and near moving mechanical parts with the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
