We provide a culturally safe and culturally informed education, and we now have an exciting opportunity for an Interim Principal to lead our school through a critical 12-month period of transformation and governance rebuilding.
This is an opportunity to drive real change, ensuring our school continues to provide culturally informed, high-quality education. Yipirinya School is looking for multiple full-time Primary & Secondary Teachers based in Alice Springs, NT.
These are classroom-based roles teaching various year levels, including Primary (Years 1-6) and Secondary (Years 7-9).
As a Teacher at Yipirinya, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons while supporting students' academic and personal development in a culturally responsive learning environment.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum and the school's educational prioritiesCreating a culturally inclusive classroom that values and incorporates Aboriginal perspectives and languagesSupporting student wellbeing through positive behaviour support approaches and trauma-informed pedagogyAssessing and monitoring student progress to provide targeted interventions and supportCollaborating with colleagues and school leadership to drive continuous improvement and professional learningEngaging with families and the local community to foster strong relationships and cultural connectionsWhat You Will Bring to the Team:To qualify, you will need full Northern Territory Teacher Registration (TRB NT) or the ability to obtain it.
You must also have prior teaching experience in a primary or secondary school setting.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Experience working with Aboriginal communities and remote schoolsStrong classroom management and student engagement skillsAbility to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needsA passion for culturally responsive education and Indigenous perspectivesAs our ideal candidate, you will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as resilience, adaptability, and cultural awareness to support students in a meaningful way.
Your enthusiasm for teaching and ability to build positive relationships with students will be crucial in ensuring their success.
Candidates with experience working in Central Australian Aboriginal communities and an understanding of the diverse cultural groups in the region will be highly regarded.
