Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment.The Operational Leadership and Capability Manager is responsible for the development, delivery and ongoing quality assurance of custodial leadership programs in Youth Justice.The incumbent will assess issues impacting the development of operational leadership, provide strategic advice and recommendations to precinct Directors and Executives, with a solutions-focused approach to address compliance issues, skill gaps and support learning needs.The role will require frequent travel to both youth justice custodial precincts, as well as external venues in regional and metropolitan Victoria.What does the Operational Leadership and Capability Manager do? Provides highly specialised learning and capability oversight and advice to operational leaders within Youth Justice, including the development of programs and frameworks.Mentoring and coaching operational staff with leadership responsibilities in the practical application of training outputs.Oversee the supervision, direction and review of operational leadership training packages.As our ideal candidate, you will have: Significant knowledge and experience in the development and delivery (in various modalities) of leadership, management, and interpersonal skills training to operational staff.Knowledge of the Occupational Safety Training Framework and the legislative base for use of force under the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.Extensive knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.What's in it for you?
