As a result of a new project going into construction in early 2025 and aiming for a full operational phase by late 2026, we are looking for a very experienced Construction Manager to take on this challenge.The RoleThe Construction Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing construction activities, ensuring all operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and in alignment with high standards. This includes ensuring that the work complies with the contract's terms and specifications, coordinating teams, managing budgets, and maintaining compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role is key to ensuring the successful completion of the construction and expansion initiatives for the project.Your ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive construction plans, including project schedules, resource planning, and budget management.Work with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure construction efforts align with project specifications, goals, and timelines.Review contract documents to understand the scope of work, timelines, deliverables, and cost estimates, ensuring compliance with the contract's terms and specifications.Manage changes in scope or unforeseen issues that may lead to contract modifications.Handle claims and disputes, coordinating with legal teams to resolve issues in compliance with contract terms.Coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate project communication and alignment across all levels.Foster a culture of safety by ensuring that all construction activities meet the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, as well as industry regulations.Lead regular safety inspections, safety meetings, and risk assessments to promote a safe work environment addressing any deficiencies or deviations promptly.Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and the on-site construction team to ensure adherence to schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.Monitor productivity, resource allocation, and performance, ensuring optimal use of labor, equipment, and materials.Manage all third-party vendors and contractors to ensure they meet the company's standards and project requirements.Establish and maintain quality assurance and control processes to ensure construction work meets project specifications, codes, and quality standards.Monitor and manage project budgets, including tracking expenditures and controlling costs to prevent overruns.Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders, including progress reports, risk assessments, and budget tracking.Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site construction matters, coordinating efforts to ensure project milestones are achieved.What you'll need to succeedBachelor's degree in Construction Management, or a related field.Substantial experience in mining-related construction, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects in both brownfield and greenfield environments.Strong understanding of construction management practices, mining processes, and safety regulations, preferable in the New South Wales mining framework.Proficient in project management software (Aconex), scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.Commitment to the company's values of safety, integrity, and sustainable operations.What's on OfferLarge Resource Project on brownfield and greenfield (majority)Be the go-to person in ConstructionWe will consider candidates from NSW, VIC, and QLDWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
