We prioritise exceptional client service through frequent communication and timely deliverables.About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity for a graduate engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to join our Hobart Fire Safety Engineering team. Fire Engineering is an exciting, specialised field that integrates concepts from various engineering disciplines, particularly Mechanical Engineering.As our Hobart office is experiencing strong growth and expansion, you will play a key role in shaping the future of this team. You will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibilities as the office grows and work alongside experienced engineers, contributing to high-profile projects in Tasmania.In this role, you will develop engineered building designs and implement innovative fire protection systems and strategies to minimise the risk of fire and its effects on people, property, and the environment.Duties will include:Conduct fire engineering analysis, calculations and modelling.Performing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations and fire and smoke modelling to assess fire behaviour and develop effective safety strategies.Conduct occupant egress modelling to analyse safe evacuation.Assessing and evaluating fire safety solutions and innovations to ensure compliance with relevant building codes, and standards.Developing fire strategies to meet the Performance Requirements and local codes.Develop fire safety engineering performance solution reports.Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to provide holistic fire safety solutions.Develop innovative calculation tools and methodologies to enhance fire safety engineering analysis.Liaise directly with design team members and contractors, participating in design meetings/authority meetings/site inspections and client functions.Skills and QualificationsThe successful candidate will have:A Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering (Mechanical preferred; Civil/Structural disciplines will also be considered).Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply engineering principles to fire engineering challenges.Creativity, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal).Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and contractors.Strong work ethic with a can-do attitude.Proficient across Word/Excel/Outlook with willingness to learn new software tools.Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills.Ability to work independently, as well as in a larger team.A valid driver's license and have access to a working vehicle.We offer the following benefits:Competitive remuneration packages.A comprehensive graduate training program to support your professional development.Be part of a rapidly expanding Hobart office with room for personal growth and professional advancement.A friendly, supportive team culture that values collaboration.Health & Wellness initiatives to support employee well-being.Opportunities to work on interesting and unique projects.Flexible Working Arrangements.Enjoy the unique lifestyle that Tasmania has to offer while growing your career.While prior experience is beneficial, it is not essential.
