Alice Springs, Alice Springs & Central Australia NTWe began 24 years ago with a knock-out exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW which raised over a million dollars. People from the remotest, most beautiful part of the desert, then used this money to develop their own organisation, with a culture of caring, compassion and determination. At the time, the focus was to get family members home to Kintore on dialysis, for people to be looked after on country and to maintain the traditions of looking after country and passing on cultural heritage to future generations. It took a little time…and a lot of hard work…but in 2004, Purple House started dialysis in Kintore, the first of its kind, and set a precedence for many others to follow.Today we are proud to say we have helped many communities to get their people home and now operate Dialysis in 20 (and growing) remote communities across NT, SA and WA. We also run two mobile dialysis trucks, provide a range of support services including Aged Care, NDIS, Primary Health and Social Support, run a successful bush medicine social enterprise and always working on new innovations. We have come a long way in two decades and are excited about the next chapter!About the RoleWork closely with the Deputy CEO and senior leadership team to enhance and better integrate financial accountability, robust record keeping and general financial capability and efficiencies into programme delivery.Provide oversight and support to the Finance and Payroll teams, demonstrating leadership, initiative, and an innovative approach to the financial management.Oversee and advocate for improved internal financial controls and processes across the wider organisation as well as being primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of the financial operations of the organisation.Manage all aspects of financial accountability ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards and regulatory requirements including FBT, GST, STP, PAYG and Superannuation.Implement and maintain internal controls and safeguards for all financial transactions including the receipt of all revenue and expenditure.About You - EssentialBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business or Similar.Experience working in a senior finance role in a medium to large organisation.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Demonstrable relationship building and maintenance skills with a range of stakeholders both internal and external.A flexible, outcome focused mindset that is evidenced by positive, innovative, inclusive and well thought out approaches to problems, opportunities and the support of a growing organisation.Well-developed risk identification, management and mitigation skills and experience, with a proven ability to contribute to the risk management maturity and success of the whole organisation.A proven track record in grant/programme funding management; experience in compliance and reporting of grants.Advanced computer literacy with 5+ years’ experience working with accounting and payroll software systems.Experience working for an Aboriginal organisation and/or experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.Current National Criminal History check (less than 3 months old).Unrestricted driver license to drive in the NT.Unrestricted legal rights to work in Australia.Member of the CA, CPA or IPA.Experience with MYOB, Employment Hero and/or Lightyear software.Experience working for an Indigenous organisation.Experience working for a non-for-profit organisation with multiple funding streams/programmes.What we offerAttractive salary with 11.5% super + generous salary packaging options which may include remote benefits (individual circumstances apply).6 weeks annual leave plus 17.5% leave loading.Other generous leave entitlements. We offer relocation assistance to support your move to this beautiful part of Australia. How to applyIf you think you're a great fit for this role, please tell us why by submitting a one-page cover letter and resume via SEEK.We encourage you to explore our website, Facebook and Instagram to see how we roll. You are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as applications will be reviewed on submission and as such the closing date is subject to change without notice. We actively encourage and invite applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for all our positions.Your application will include the following questions:Do you have a current Australian driver's licence?Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia? How many years' experience do you have as a finance manager?Do you have experience using MYOB?How many years of accounting experience do you have?Do you have a current Police Check (National Police Certificate) for employment?Do you have experience working in the not-for-profit sector?
