Torres Strait Tours Pty Ltd is currently seeking a vibrant, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tour Guide to become a part of our team at 2-8 Douglas Street, Thursday Island, QLD-4875. As a Tour Guide, you will play a crucial role in providing engaging and informative tours, ensuring that our guests have an enriching and enjoyable experience. You will be responsible for leading tours, sharing insights about local culture and history, and ensuring the smooth operation of each tour. Roles & Responsibilities: Greet guests warmly upon their arrival and make them feel comfortable. Ensure that attendance is logged accurately for each session, event, or shift, including the guest names and times of arrival and departure. Create a detailed and realistic schedule or itinerary that includes all necessary activities, timelines, and key milestones. Organize transportation, accommodation, and any other logistical needs required for the tour. Develop and rehearse commentary that highlights key points, interesting facts, and engaging stories related to the tour sites. Conduct the tour according to the planned itinerary, providing appropriate information such as notable features, exhibits, or attractions at each site. Verify all arrangements, bookings, and reservations prior to the tour date to ensure everything is in place. Equip yourself with comprehensive knowledge about the tour locations, historical facts, cultural significance, and practical details to answer the questions of visitors. Ensure that brochures, maps, and other tour literature are up-to-date, accurate, and well-organized. Ensure that all audiovisual equipment, such as projectors or screens, is set up and functioning properly before the presentation begins. Skills and Attributes: A minimum Cert IV level qualification is required At least two years of relevant experience in a similar role is required. A strong passion for nature and outdoor activities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per annum plus Superannuation
