You will also collaborate with our close-knit and friendly team across the business.The Creative Patternmaker is integral in the development and creation of all designs at KOOKAI. We respect and value traditional Patternmaking skills, whilst embracing new technologies to support speed to market and sustainable practices. We simulate all styles in 3D prior to sampling, from concept through to design approval.The Creative Patternmaker is responsible for the pattern making, 3D simulation and fit requirements, ensuring patterns are accurate per company fit standards, with a core focus on garment quality. This role works closely with the design team on aesthetics and fit through this process.We are looking for someone who is passionate about progression, loves working in a fast-paced environment, and is open to new technology practices - with the ultimate goal to assist in the innovation and evolution of KOOKAI.This is a full-time role based in our Head Office located in Hawthorn East, Melbourne.This role involves: Working closely with designers, interpreting their designs and drafting patterns for 3D simulation and sampling for all product from concept until design approvalFitting garments to the standard Kookai model, altering accordinglyCommunicating with the Technical Patternmakers and Sewing Team on construction and quality of individual stylesBlock development to Kookai standardsUpdating all avatars to the latest design including approved stylesSupporting Technical Patternmakers with finishing patterns when styles are required for sample or productionWorking closely with suppliers in the development of proto and PP samples and proactively recognising any issues for productionMeasuring patterns and inputting measures and grade increments into design development platformsIdentifying and providing training and guidance on factory's workmanship as required, to achieve a high-quality productEnsuring all workflow priorities are achievedIdeally, you have: Proven experience as a pattern makerKnowledge and ability to grade patterns to size standardsAbility to read, analyse and interpret pattern requirementsExceptional attention to detail and accuracy skillsExcellent time management and self-motivatedExperience working with factoriesStyle CAD experience a bonus3D CAD experience a bonus (VStitcher)The Kookai culture is one that is supportive, friendly, passionate, easy-going and collaborative which makes this an enjoyable workplace to be, as reflected by our high engagement levels.
