Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Operation of Haematology analysers Perform manual and automated diagnostic testing Perform all routine procedures from point specimen reception to execution of results for Pathological diagnosis, including specimen dissection Compliance with records maintenance and recording of results in line with protocols Specimen storage and retrieval Equipment maintenance and operation Participation in both routine and audit related Quality Assurance activities Assist with stock control Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required Participation in training staff Liaising with internal and/or external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes Maintain confidentiality of customer About You To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including: A Diploma of Laboratory Technology, Associate Degree or equivalent Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within Haematology is preferred Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures Must be a cohesive and contributing member of the team and display positive attitudes towards achieving outcomes Strong time management, interpersonal and organisational skills The ability to cope and thrive in a busy environment Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety and quality assurance processes and procedures This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine Benefits and Wellbeing As part of working for Healius, you will have access to a range of benefits including: A marketplace of exclusive discounts and vouchers from leading Australian and online retailers.
