The Role
Reporting to the Group Marketing Manager and Creative Director, and with 6 direct reports, the purpose of this role is to lead the design team and execute Art Director responsibilities effectively.
1. You will interact and collaborate with team members to ensure accurate production of marketing collateral, provide coaching, mentoring, advice and guidance to your team of graphic designers
2. Assist the Creative Director and the Marketing Team, with execution of the groups advertising and marketing material ensuring the company’s brand positioning and integrity is maintained
3. Planning, managing, and executing on-location photoshoots, both in our internal photography studio and on location.
Key Responsibilities will include:
4. Responsible for the effective day-to-day management and development of the design team, providing guidance and support to grow their skillset
5. Assist team members in understanding briefs, providing advice and clarification when required
6. Provide key sign-off on all design material and projects, ensuring that all work is correct, accurate and is to the highest standard possible, whilst adequately reflecting the brand’s style-guide
7. Investigate and implement better and more efficient systems and processes for the design team, including managing external suppliers
8. Manage and run weekly WIP meetings to provide feedback on progress of work
9. Work on design projects for the whole Beacon Lighting Group, ensuring that our brand positioning and style guidelines are met
10. Ensure all brand style guides are reviewed, developed when appropriate and are kept up to date
11. Liaise with external print/production suppliers to ensure correct specifications are gained before forwarding artwork
12. Manage and maintain accurate image library, ensuring all images are correctly filed for all designers and relevant departments to access
13. Oversee project execution from creative concept development to delivery, including pre-production planning, on-location photoshoots, post-production edits, liaising with the relevant suppliers and internal stakeholders and ensure all projects are completed within the agreed deadlines
14. Ensure the studio, sets, props, and equipment are well-maintained and organised
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
15. Diploma / Degree in graphic design or finished art and/or relevant qualifications or experience and competency in graphic design/finished art, art direction and/or creative direction
16. A minimum of 5 years previous industry experience in a similar role is desirable
17. Proficiency working with Mac OS
18. Advanced Adobe Creative Suite Skills, particularly In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator
