The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service is a large regional hospital that provides a wide range of services including emergency, general and surgical, maternity, outpatient, and outreach services. The hospital has 58 beds including flex and monitored beds. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community.

About the Role:
As a Mental Health Nurse Consultant, you'll be at the forefront of transforming mental health services within a dynamic general medical and emergency department setting. Your expertise will drive excellence and innovation in mental health care across regional South Australia.
In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate with key stakeholders from the Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network (FUNLHN), playing a critical role in shaping and enhancing mental health responses.
Offer advanced mental health nursing care and clinical leadership.
Lead and coordinate projects and programs that drive positive outcomes for consumers and services.
Mentor and educate staff to enhance their mental health management skills.
You will be a seasoned expert with significant autonomy, making key decisions and ensuring that nursing practices align with policies.
About you:
Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Holds a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing (or equivalent).
Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
Demonstrated expertise in the mental health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
Demonstrated experience in the supervision and leadership of multidisciplinary staff.
Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.
