TP Human Capital, in conjunction with our client Lower Burdekin Water, is seeking a Finance Manager responsible for overseeing the financial health and reporting of Lower Burdekin Water.
This key leadership role ensures the smooth operation of budgeting, accounting, and financial strategies.
Leading a small, dedicated team in managing accounts payable, receivable, payroll and general administration, contributing to the strategic direction and long-term sustainability of the business.
Key Responsibilities: Develop operational and capital budgets aligned with business strategies in consultation with senior managers and the Executive Officer.
Oversee budget management, including analysis, forecasting, insurance and risk mitigation, ensuring cost efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.
Prepare and present financial reports, annual financial statements, including identifying opportunities for cost reduction and improved financial performance.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and internal policies.
Identify investment opportunities to grow the company's value over time ensuring cost recovery and long-term sustainability.
Lead and develop the finance and administration team, providing performance feedback and identifying opportunities for development.
Drive a customer-focused approach, ensuring financial processes support high levels of service delivery.
Participate in the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic, operational, and quality improvement plans.
What We're Looking For: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred), along with a professional accounting certification (CA, CPA, or equivalent).
10+ years of experience in senior financial management, with a proven ability to develop and manage financial strategies and budgets.
Expertise in financial analysis, risk management, and compliance with financial regulations.
Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing high-performing teams and fostering a positive work culture.
Advanced communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial insights into actionable recommendations.
High proficiency in financial software, MS Office, and modern accounting systems.
A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to financial and business challenges.
