Field Engineer (Civil & Structural)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Field Engineering Lead and Construction Manager in the management of Contractors from contract award through mobilisation, execution to scope completion, specifically:
• Coordination and facilitation of Contractor works, ensuring the scope is delivered to schedule and budget, including review of Contractor documentation and reporting, and attendance at regular Contractor meetings.
• Ensuring the work undertaken by the Construction Contractors meets the project expectations, relevant Standards and specifications.
• Key interface for technical information between the Construction Contractor and the Designer
• Collaboration with the Contracts and Procurement team to process Contractor change orders and variations.
• Implementation of the change management process as required.
• Achieve and maintain effective communication with the project team, and other internal and external stakeholders at all times.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design changes, field reports, and correspondence.
• Assess and respond to Technical Queries as they arise.
• Provide project engineering support and resolve any engineering-related issues for the construction teams to facilitate the construction process.
• Prepare progress reports and technical documentation where required.
Qualifications:
• Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant discipline
• Driving License
• White Card Knowledge, skills, and experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil and/or Structural Field Engineering
• Experience in Civil and/or Structural Field engineering for major capital projects in the renewables, oil & gas and mining sectors preferred.
• Proficient skills in the management of specialised packages for a multi-discipline green field project.
• Effective interpersonal and communications skills.
• Ability to problem-solve effectively.
• Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills.
• Advanced knowledge in the use of MS Office software.
• Understanding of planning, scheduling and project controls.
• Strong understanding of project reporting regimes and inputs to weekly and monthly reports.
• Right to work in Australia.
• The ideal candidate would be someone from the Gladstone or Central Queensland area who is looking to take their career to the next level by working in an emerging industry while still remaining close to home.
• Roster is Mon-Fri for Gladstone based personnel, 14/7 for DIDO/FIFO can be considered for the right candidate with local camp accommodation and QLD flights provided.
