Southern Cross Care Queensland is seeking a Residential Manager to lead the team at our Illoura Village Residential Aged Care Home in Chinchilla. Illoura village is currently undergoing an exciting transformation which will strengthen its place at the heart of the new aged care home and regional education and training hub for the area.
Chinchilla is located less than 2 hours' drive West of Toowoomba or less than 4 hours' west of Brisbane in the vibrant Western Downs Region of Queensland. It provides a hub to the surrounding towns in the area while offering a warmth and friendliness of country town.

As a Residential Manager of this home, you will lead a team of staff and manage resources efficiently to ensure the highest quality of life for the residents. You will be responsible for providing individualised and holistic care, meeting the client's needs and upholding quality of services aligned with the organisational standards. Additionally, you will be accountable and responsible for the financial management and achievement of the business plan for the site.
In this role your responsibilities would include:Site strategy: Assisting with the development, monitoring and implementation of the business plan for the site andResident care:Ensuring residents care needs are assessed in a holistic manner and plans of care appropriate to their needs are developed and implemented in consultation with the resident and their representative while supporting the residents and their families throughout their journey.Asset and site management: Overseeing and monitoring ongoing reactive and preventative maintenance requirements for the site and required works are carried out in cooperation and with support from the Property TeamManagement of administrative aspects of the site including accurate record keeping and providing regular and timely statistical data on facility demographics, incident trackers, and other data as requestedContinuous improvement and planningFinancial management: Ensuring cost effective performance as well as maintaining and monitoring of Occupancy ratesLegislative compliance and continuous improvement: Ensuring clinical policies/guidelines are in place within the facility as well as ensuring compliance with the Aged Care Act and addressing all non-compliances by assisting to formulate and implement an action planPeople and performance management: Regular communication of individual and team goals through staff appraisals and other formal or informal meetings and discussions as well as ensuring that staff are appropriately qualified, managed, developed and supported to meet their potential and achieve contemporary best practice in their area of expertise.Providing leadership by encouraging consultation, collaboration and communication, coaching and mentoring as well as ensuring staff development through learning & development activities in addition to mandatory trainingDevelopment and maintaining of a safe and secure environment:Ensuring compliance with all Workplace Health & Safety instructions and promoting education and workplace performance that supports safe workplace practices and when necessary timely incident investigations and correct follow-up.What will you bring to the role?
A current APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse (desirable)Demonstrated experience in the management of a Residential Aged Care FacilityStrong knowledge of operating requirements within the Health/Aged Care IndustryAbility to conduct care minutes assessments and associated financial analysisKnowledge of legislative and operating requirements within the Aged Care Accreditation StandardsStrong experience in budget implementation and monitoringDemonstrated asset and site management experienceDemonstrated leadership and people management skillsHighly developed communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the elderly, families, staff and managementStrong time management skillsWho is Southern Cross Care Queensland?
