Job Description
We are seeking experienced Cooks to join our team at iDumplings Cairns Esplanade Pty Ltd.
Please note that Australian work authorization is a mandatory requirement for this position. Only candidates with relevant Australian work experience and valid Australian working rights will be considered.
Duties:
* Food Preparation: Prepare ingredients for dishes, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and portion control standards.
* Cooking: Cook, plate, and garnish dishes according to recipes, ensuring proper cooking techniques, temperatures, and presentation.
* Quality Control: Monitor food quality and freshness throughout the cooking process, ensuring that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet quality standards in terms of taste, appearance, and portion size.
* Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels, order and restock food and supplies, and manage expired items in storage areas.
* Menu Development: Create and introduce new menu items, specials, and seasonal offerings that align with current trends, customer preferences, and the restaurant's style.
* Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces, in accordance with food safety regulations.
* Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety standards, including proper food handling, storage, and cleaning procedures, use of protective equipment, and safe operation of kitchen equipment.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff members to coordinate food preparation and service during busy periods, ensuring smooth operations.
* Special Dietary Requirements: Accommodate special dietary requests or restrictions, such as allergies or food preferences, while preparing and serving meals.
* Adaptability: Be flexible and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, adjusting to changing priorities and demands.
* Communication: Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff, restaurant attendants, and management to ensure seamless coordination and timely service.
Requirements:
* Australian work authorization is required.
* A minimum of 1 year full-time work experience as a cook in Australia.
* AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality Management.
* Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work independently with efficiency.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service abilities.
* Knowledge of authentic Chinese cuisine.
* Flexibility to work a 7-day roster, including public holidays.
