About the role
* Starting at SCHADS Level 4.1 plus 11.5% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading.
* 12-month fixed term contract.
* Full time 38 hour working week.
* Located at Wharf Street, Ipswich.
* Proactively safeguard the welfare of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young individuals by identifying potential risks of harm.
* Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families to improve their own wellbeing.
* An understanding of children's developmental stages, vulnerabilities, and resilience factors.
* An understanding of the complexities of intergenerational trauma through a lens of cultural awareness.
* Effectively manage complex cases within the realm of care and protection, employing expertise and adopting a solution-oriented approach.
* Participate in true partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families to create case plans with a child-centric focus whilst ensuring their safety and providing support to families in nurturing environments.
* A thorough comprehension of the intricate challenges confronting families in modern society, coupled with a strong grasp of risk assessment frameworks.
* Work collaboratively with families, community services organisations, member service peak bodies, and other professionals.
About the successful applicant
To be successful in this role, you will:
* A tertiary qualification in either Social Work, Social Science, Psychology and/or a related discipline.
* Previous experience in case management, social services, or a related field.
* Knowledgeable about the provisions of the Child Protection Act of 1999 (vital).
* A current Blue Card.
* Current C Class Driver’s License (QLD).
* Able to multitask or shift focus and reprioritise tasks as needed.
* Create quarterly reporting to ensure compliance with service agreement requirements.
* Demonstrate proficiency in the use of business technology and desktop applications, including Microsoft Office packages, and ICMS (or similar case management system).
* Possess well-developed communication and people skills and the ability to interact positively with a wide variety of stakeholders with a professional manner.
* Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to act with discretion and sensitivity, exercise initiative and maintain confidentiality.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
