About The Role
The Finance Analyst for the Barossa Project and Non-Operated Assets within the WA, NA & TL Regional Business Unit, plays a critical role in overseeing financial information and analysis for key project activities. This includes managing financial accounting, budgeting, and forecasting processes for both internal and Joint Venture stakeholders. Your insights will guide business decisions and ensure clarity on the financial performance of projects.
Key accountabilities include:
* Oversee all finance activities related to the Barossa Project and Non-Operated Assets within the WA, NA & TL Regional Business Unit portfolio.
* Provide financial advice on Delegation of Authority (DOA) application, expenditure treatment, cost management structures, and support cost reduction initiatives.
* Maintain relationships with Joint Venture partners' finance representatives, deliver periodic and ad hoc financial reports, including Work Program & Budget (WP&B), Billing Statements, and Cash Call Statements, while ensuring compliance with Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) requirements and managing non-operated external audits.
* Ensure the accuracy of master data, prepare financial analysis and commentary, actively challenge costs, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
* Prepare monthly accruals, provide monthly commentary and analysis, and contribute to external reporting requirements.
* Deliver forward-looking financial analysis and insights to guide business decisions and improve financial performance.
* Business partnering with projects leadership and cost control teams to improve business outcomes.
About You
* Sound accounting experience, preferably in Big 4 or resources industry.
* Sound knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
* Highly proficient in MS office products and data modelling / manipulation
* Experienced SAP user
* Completed CPA, CA or equivalent.
