We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a leading packaging company based near Villawood. This casual position is ideal for a proactive and skilled tradesperson looking for consistent work on an afternoon shift roster.
Position Details:
* Shift: 2pm – 10pm (Afternoon Shift)
* Hourly Rate: Up to $61.81 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)
* Employment Type: Casual (temp2perm), ongoing opportunity
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on packaging machinery and production equipment
* Troubleshoot mechanical faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime
* Conduct routine inspections and adjustments to ensure optimal performance of equipment
* Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth operation of packaging lines
* Adhere to all health, safety, and quality standards
* Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Requirements:
* Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent
* Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing or packaging environment
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
* Experience with conveyors, pneumatic systems, and automated machinery
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and time management skills
