The Opportunity Come and discover the opportunity to join our Coupled Pickle Cold Mill (CPCM) team at our Springhill Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as an Electrical Technician. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers. The CPCM is a highly automated processing line that uses a blend of old and new technology. The CPCM is toward the end of the steel-making process with the primary purpose of strip thickness reduction in preparation for the downstream steel coating processes. You will join a cross functional team that ensures equipment is maintained to the highest standards to meet our objectives for quality and reliability. In this critical role, you will be able to use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes, whilst ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues is a priority. What will you do? With your proven understanding of industrial electrical systems, in this role you will: follow the safe system of work and develop isolation instructions and job safety analysis for the required work provide assessment and follow up of equipment issues impacting plant performance perform equipment inspections as well as detailed planning and condition monitoring of equipment perform safe, efficient and effective emergency repairs fault-find on electrical equipment including PLC's, drives and instrumentation systems perform equipment inspections, identify improvement opportunities and report on findings contribute in site management of contractors and maintenance service providers to ensure maintenance work is executed safely and to specification whilst continuing to improve tool time, lower costs and improve quality More about you You are driven by self-development, committed to our success, and have technical experience within an industrial, manufacturing environment.
