Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) focuses on understanding our clients and their industry to provide our customers with solutions that meet their business needs.
The Product Management function supports CIB's activities and, as part of the Debt Products team, Product Management is responsible for the end-to-end value chain for the CIB-owned products we offer to our customers.
As a key member of the Product Management team, you will be responsible for supporting the product management activities of the Structured Finance.
Reporting to the Director, Product Enablement, you will support the CIB Debt Products team with the following key areas of focus: Subject Matter Expert on Structured Finance products, specifically securitisations.
Assisting with product design and approval in line with the Westpac Product and Services Lifecycle policy.
This includes new product approvals and changes to existing products encompassing end to end value chains, product collateral, policies, control frameworks.
Relationship building, engagement and collaboration with stakeholders across the product value chain to ensure the product design and fulfilment is optimal.
These stakeholders include origination / distribution, relationship management, technology, operations, credit, legal, tax, compliance, risk, finance.
Monitoring and quality assurance of Product and portfolio metrics including critical data elements and risk weights and Product controls.
Providing business analyst support for Projects and initiatives.
Provide continued focus on simplification and optimisation of business processes.
Manage risks, mitigants and controls across the value chain to ensure that the product set operates within Westpac risk appetite.
Control self-assessments, quality assurance reviews, portfolio risk weight monitoring and analysis.

Longer term, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your skill set to other products within the CIB Debt Products domain.

What do I need?
To be successful you will have the following: Strong data management and analytical skills (advanced Excel skills) Product management experience in the financial services industry (2+ years).
Knowledge and expertise in Structured Finance including securitisation would be a key advantage.
Analytical thinking skills with experience in tackling and simplifying complexity.
Intermediate stakeholder management skills.
Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
Additionally, our team will benefit from your ability to understand technology applications, and how they translate to efficacy improvements and business process optimisation for driving value across the business.
Proven operational experience of working within the financial services industry with some knowledge of APRA regulations will be well regarded.

To ensure you are well supported for growth and development, the team come together in office every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as anchor days.
