The Role
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Program Coordinator to join our team in Carnarvon, WA. The Program Coordinator will lead various school-based and community-based programs, supporting young people to reach their full potential. The Program Coordinator will mentor and guide a small Carnarvon team and report to the Team Leader - Mid West & Gascoyne. Program delivery in the Gascoyne region is focused on improving the health and well-being of young people residing there, with a core focus on Carnarvon and occasional travel to outlying communities within the wider Gascoyne region.
Key Responsibilities
* Efficiently manage the coordination and delivery of identified programs and events.
* Lead and support a small team of casual and volunteer staff.
* Maintain accurate records to track participant attendance and program impact.
* Engage with local stakeholders including schools, youth service providers, sporting clubs, police, and community members.
* Promote SMF programs and events across the targeted regions.
* Assist with the development of funding proposals including government grants, sponsorships, and private donations.
* Proven experience in leading and managing staff.
* Experience working with and/or within Aboriginal communities.
* Experience working with at-risk and disengaged youth.
* Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
* Experience in delivering sports clinics and/or training sessions.
* Strong ability to manage budgets and oversee grant acquittal processes.
* Valid WA Driver's Licence.
* Current Working with Children Check.
* National Police Clearance.
* Availability to work outside of normal business hours and on weekends.
* Tertiary qualification in Education, Mental Health, or related fields.
* Experience in the education system.
* Experience working with youth with disabilities.
* Youth worker or counsellor experience.
* Current coaching or officiating accreditation.
* Current LR Driver’s Licence with F-Extension.
* Knowledge and experience working in WA’s sporting industry.
