At MacKillop Family Services, we're on the lookout for a compassionate Youth Worker to make a lasting impact on young people in our Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) Program.
This is an opportunity to work in a supportive team and contribute to the development of young people who need guidance, energy, and care.
We offer Permanent Part-Time and Casual opportunities based in Picton NSW 2571 and surrounding areas.
About the Role:
You'll be a mentor, role model, and change-maker. You'll help youth overcome challenges, build their confidence, and guide them toward a brighter future.
You will provide trauma-informed services that achieve positive outcomes for young people and their families. You will offer young people safety, stability, predictability, and consistency by implementing the house guidelines and supporting the implementation of individual strategies and case plans.
What Your Day Would Include:
* Mentor and engage young people, guiding them through life skills development and personal growth.
* Role model positive behaviors, emotional intelligence, and social responsibility.
* Empower youth by encouraging their active participation in decisions that impact their lives.
* Provide hands-on support with day-to-day tasks like meal prep, shopping, and housekeeping to ensure a safe and stable environment.
* Collaborate with a vibrant team to tailor services that meet the specific needs of each young person.
* Safeguard their wellbeing by reporting any concerns to ensure they're safe and supported.

What You Bring:
You're passionate about supporting youth and ready to make an impact. You bring:
* A Diploma in Youth Work or a related field.
* Demonstrated experience in youth services or residential care.
* A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and a commitment to cultural competency.
* A trauma-informed approach to working with young people facing significant challenges.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and support youth effectively.
Must Have or Willing to Obtain:
* Valid and Current Driver's Licence
* Valid and Current Working with Children's Check
* Valid and Current NDIS Workers Screening Check
* Satisfactory Criminal History Check
